Little ones and their parents will participate in hands on learning, meet live animals, and engage in fun zoo tours in these 1 hour classes.

Please note: The Dallas Zoo and Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park reserves the right to cancel any program for reasons we deem appropriate. Programs that have not met the minimum number of participants within two weeks of the scheduled program date may be cancelled. In the event that we cancel your program, a full refund will be issued and individuals will be contacted directly. You will be notified within five (5) working days of receipt of your registration if the program for which you registered for is full. If you cancel a program with the Dallas Zoo or Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park, a program credit may be issued based on circumstance. The credit may be used for any education program or camp at the Dallas Zoo.

NATURE TYKES: Ages 3 to young 4 year olds

Threes and young fours blossom in our Nature Tykes Preschool program!  Certified teachers provide a complete early childhood curriculum based on Texas TEKS, NAEYC curriculum guidelines, and goals of the Council for Environmental Education.  Children will develop skills in language, literacy, phonemic awareness, creative arts, problem solving, critical thinking, mathematical skills, scientific thinking and observation, and cooperation and social skills.

Students participate in group discussion, songs, stories, games, art projects, math, and literacy activities, live animal visitors they will meet in the classroom, in addition to tours in the zoo. The class size for Preschool is 18 students per class, with 2 teachers.

A-ZOO PRESCHOOL SAFARI: Ages 4 to young 5 year olds

Our popular “A to Zoo Preschool Safari” is for 4 and young 5 year olds. Through literary exploration students also meet live animals and take zoo tours. This program is taught by certified teachers and provides a well rounded early learning curriculum based on Texas TEKS, NAEYC curriculum guidelines, and goals of the Council for Environmental Education.  Children will develop skills in language, literacy, phonemic awareness, creative arts, problem solving, critical thinking, mathematical skills, scientific thinking and observation, and cooperation and social skills. The class size for A to Zoo Preschool Safari is 18 students per class, with 2 teachers.
